After the lunch Marius gave a presentation on the work of his group of volunteers that look after the War Graves in their region and research them. They also visit schools giving the children information on the liberation that the Allied soldiers established in Holland during WWII.
For his work Marius was given the honour of being made a Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau. One of the graves in the village of Vlimen is of a Lance Corporal John Steele CMP who came from Wednesbury and was killed in action. He is buried in the cemetery behind the Roman Catholic church together with another British soldier.
All the members enjoyed the lunch and look forward to a new meeting place in 2017.
